LOC turns heads at Soccerex European Forum

LOC Rocked at Soccerex European Forum / Azerbaijan 2012

On 28 and 29 March, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 took part in the Soccerex European Forum in Manchester. As it does every year, this international gathering fully lived up to expectations, bringing together numerous participants, enthusiasts and key players from the world of football and football business. The event’s enormous success was due in no small part to the contribution of the LOC.

“Having the Soccerex European Forum as a platform from which we can engage with the media and football’s business community is a wonderful opportunity for us,” said Elkhan Mammadov,Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Football Association (AFFA) and Chairman of the LOC, the day before the event. The Forum provided the Committee with the ideal chance to network and to promote the tournament scheduled to run from 22 September to 13 October later this year.

We’d be delighted to work with Soccerex again in the future.

Alongside its stand, in front of veritable legends of the game such as Patrick Vieira, Rafael Benitez, Emmanuel Petit and Gaizka Mendieta, the LOC delivered a presentation entitled ‘Vision Azerbaijan’. The talk detailed the various measures implemented as part of the organisation of Azerbaijan 2012 and the business opportunities that have emerged from the process.

During the presentation, Nargiz Mammadova, LOC Coordinator and Vugar Rustamli, responsible for volunteering at Azerbaijan 2012, both addressed the framework of the competition, and in particular its preparatory stage. They also stressed the tournament’s collaborative aspects, in relation to the international media and sporting bodies, as well as the various companies that make the staging of such an event possible.

“We very much look forward to sharing the business opportunities present this year in Azerbaijan with regards to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, as well as those that the country offers to the global football community in general,” said Mammadov, before concluding, “We’d be delighted to work with Soccerex again in the future.”
