Argentina to host intercontinental play-off first leg on road to France 2019

FIFA Secretary General Fatma Saloura conducts the draw of play-off between CONCACAF and COMEBOL

Argentina will host the first leg of the intercontinental play-off against the fourth-placed side from CONCACAF, following a draw conducted in Moscow.

During a meeting between the secretary generals of the North, Central America and Caribbean (CONCACAF) and South American (CONMEBOL) confederations, the draw was conducted by FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura and the Official Mascot of the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™, ettie™.

Argentina's opponent will be known following the conclusion of the CONCACAF Women's Championship, which takes place from 4-17 October. The play-off matches will take place during the women's international match calendar period between 5-13 November, with the exact dates to be confirmed later.

The winner of the intercontinental play-off will book a ticket to France 2019.
