A significant step was taken in Asia's road to the Women's Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 as the final round draw for the continent's qualifiers was made in Kuala Lumpur at the home of the Asian Football Confederation.

Eight teams were drawn into two groups of four and will compete from 3 to 9 February with Korea Republic (Group A) and China PR (Group B) hosting. The top two teams in each group will then play in two-legged, home-and-away play-offs on 6 and 11 March.

Group A consists of two-time Women's Olympic Football Tournament participants Korea DPR, hosts Korea Republic, Vietnam and Myanmar, while Group B is made up of Australia, hosts China PR, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

Format

  • Eight teams play in round robin format from 3-9 February 2020
  • The top two teams in each group will advance to play a two-legged play-off, home-away series on 6 and 11 March
  • The top team in Group A will face the runners-up in Group B and vice versa
  • The two winners from the play-offs will qualify for Tokyo 2020
