- Tickets for France 2018 were exclusively available to VISA card holders from 11 April onwards
- As of Thursday 19 April, tickets are now on sale to the general public
- Brigitte Henriques: “It was essential that we draw up an affordable ticketing policy”
As well as France, hosts of the event, 15 nations have booked a spot at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018, which is scheduled to take place in Brittany from 5 to 24 August 2018. As of 11 April, when tickets were first put on sale, supporters of competing countries have also been able to do the same.
“The success of a tournament like this one is measured in terms of sporting spectacle, but also in terms of its friendly, party-like atmosphere,” explained Brigitte Henriques, Vice-President of the French Football Federation and the Local Organising Committee. “This competition must be a veritable festival, held in a region that is passionate about the beautiful game and very involved in the development of women’s football.”
While tickets have already been on sale to holders of VISA cards (tournament partners) for an exclusive one-week period, a general sale was launched on 19 April.
“As far as FIFA was concerned, it was essential that we draw up, in conjunction with the Local Organising Committee, an affordable ticketing policy, so as to meet the needs of the greatest number of people and allow all fans to attend the matches,” added Henriques. Those fans can now take the first step by ordering their tickets!
