After seven months of qualifier events in 20 different countries across the globe, and over 25,000 players competing in the online qualification, the FIFA Interactive World Cup has at last confirmed the 32nd and final entrant for next month's Grand Final in Berlin.

Fifteen-year-old Mustafa Agyuez who lives near Dusseldorf defeated all challengers en route to the final before securing a 4-2 victory over Uemit Uenal in the final of the German Live Qualifier at the adidas Performance Store in Berlin.

This will be his second Grand Final appearance in as many years and the Turkish teenager is hopeful that his experience in Amsterdam in 2006 will help him succeed.

"I want to win the title of FIFA Interactive World Player and I believe I can in my adopted country next month, because I've already experienced a Grand Final before," he said.

Morning glory for duo
The morning session of the event was dedicated to a Berlin pre-qualifying tournament, with 64 enthusiastic gamers turning up, not only hoping to compete in the national final later in the day, but also to fulfil their dream of reaching the Grand Final.

In the end, it was Christoph Peham and Saheda Konuk who qualified and they linked up with the other 16 national finalists who had qualified at one of the other eight pre-qualifiers that took place throughout Germany over the past six weeks.

The standard of play throughout the group stages of the Live Qualifier was extremely high, with all entrants going about their business in a professional manner. A special mention must go to 11-year-old Mehmet-Can Karakas, who had beaten star guest Oliver Pocher 9-0 in an exhibition match earlier in the day.

Despite not being able to make it past the quarter-finals, the experience will ultimately serve Mehmet-Can well in future years.

The Live Qualifier in Germany concludes the qualification campaign for this year's FIFA Interactive World Cup. All eyes are now firmly fixed on the Grand Final which will also be held in Berlin on Saturday 24 May at the Sony Center.
